Attendees will learn about the theory, research, and practical application behind the coach-athlete relationship. This session is meant for educators who plan or are coaching athletes of all ages and ability levels. This session will unpack the 3C+1 model of the coach-athlete relationship and introduce the COMPASS model, which focuses on maintenance strategies within the coach-athlete relationship. This interactive workshop will help coaches/educators learn why the coach-athlete relationship is thought to be at the heart of what coaching is.
