Dr. Aron Potter graduated from Culver-Stockton College in 1998, earning a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. In 1998, she joined USA Athletes International. This organization uses sports as a catalyst for educating students about culture and diversity worldwide. She continues to travel abroad with student-athletes from the US. She joined the Montgomery County (MO) School District in 1999, teaching high school and adaptive physical education while coaching three sports. 2000, Aron joined the Central Missouri State University Softball and Volleyball programs as a graduate assistant. She earned a Master of Science in Physical Education, Exercise, and Sport Science (2002). At CMSU, she continued teaching lower elementary and adaptive physical education at Martin Warren Elementary. As she transitioned from primary and secondary education into post-secondary education, Aron continued to teach health and physical education while becoming the Head Softball Coach at Coffeyville Community College and Missouri Southern State University. She was named Kansas Jayhawk Conference Coach of the Year in 2003. Dr. Potter was an active member of the Missouri Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (MOAHPERD) professional organization. She served on the Representative Assembly, Quality Health Physical Education Cadre and was a professional development facilitator focused on K-12 health and physical education educators across Missouri. She was one of four MOAHPERD members chosen to represent the State of Missouri at the American Cancer Society and Center for Disease Control School Health Education and Physical Education Advanced Academy in Atlanta, Georgia.
Advocacy for quality health and physical education programs has been central to Aron’s passion throughout her career. Her work has not only influenced the field of physical education but also the lives of countless students and athletes. She continued teaching at CMSU and C-SC, mentoring the next generation of health and physical educators on best practices for pedagogy and advocacy, and being an active member within a state and national organization. In 2011, she was awarded the State and National Award by the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport for contributing to girls’ and women’s sports. MOAHPERD awarded her the Robert M. Taylor Professional Service Award in 2013 for her work with the organization. She was inducted into the Culver-Stockton College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003 and 2007; in 2022, she was inducted into the Culver-Stockton College Education Hall of Excellence. In 2023, she was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame alongside Dr. Peggy Martin and the University of Central Missouri Jennie Volleyball Program. In 2015, she was named the Vice-President of Academic Services at Coffeyville Community College. Aron completed her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University in 2021.
